A while ago, I bought some fabric to make Orla a duvet and pillow cover. I also found this remnant and instead of letting it sit in my fabric box for eternity, I made Orla this skirt.
Her reply was “You made this for me” and the jeans her Opa bought her for christmas have become “Opa made these for me.” The skirt is long enough and may fit her for a few more Valentine Days.
My sewing skills will most likely remain at entry level, I have made a few things and worn skirts that I have made, and people who actually can sew can identify my handiwork. I did also make these snack sacks. The inside lining is nylon, they are washable and reusable.
That fabric is so cute! No wonder Orla loves her skirt. I smile every time you mention Orla's Opa. My Mom is German and it brings back memories of my Opa & when I would visit him in Germany. :)Have a great week!xxxx
Entry level skills or not, this skirt is too adorable. You might also like this tutorial for a twirly skirt: http://houseonhillroad.typepad.com/photos/twirly_skirt/.Love the snack sacks!
