Flower Study

Tuesday night is my crochet night, I go out to meet with my meet up group at Barnes & Noble.  While I am there I will check to see if there are any new crocheting books gracing the shelves and I found this one…

This book is the latest in this series of Crafty books by St Martin’s Griffin.  The best thing about this book is it’s exclusively CROCHET.  As I started trying out some of the patterns, I realized I could make all the flowers and items in the book.  I have many books none of which I made every pattern so the flower study began.  To keep it simple and quick I chose one thread for the entire study.  I used Aunt Lydia’s Classic Crochet thread in shaded pink.  I used 2 entire balls and 1/2 of a third.  Though it may seem tedious and geeky to crochet 100 + flowers, leaves and butterflies but now I have a reference for creating all sorts of things such as earrings, pendants, brooches and skies the limit.
Tonight, I blocked them all and laid them to dry.  Enjoy!
