Felting and Extra Yarn

I have always wondered if I could make a purse with 109 yards of wool.  I have had a design living inside my head for quite awhile.   So over the summer, I bought one ball of Gina from Plymouth Yarn Co.

It is a lovely worsted weight yarn, so I made my purse.  Ready for felting, but even further back I started working on this wool Granny Tote. All I had left to do was make the handles.  I made them wove in all my ends.
Now having two items to felt all the more fun.  And here it is….

I used Patons Classic Wool in Old Gold, Magenta, Dark Grey Mix and Dragon Dance.
It is basic granny squares, crocheted together, I made the handles this way so you could wear it as a back pack.  A cozy tote for all our library books this winter.

We picked up this cute story and will have revisit it in the drab days in February.  As for the little purse that is a design submission and will be out and about eventually.
Enjoy!
