Snowflake Cowl and Tunisian Join

Over the weekend, I received an email from CrochetMe offering a free E-book.  Of course, I downloaded it and immediately saw the Persimmon Cowl from Dora Ohrenstein.  Using some stash yarn, I set to work last night working up this cowl….

It is a fun tunisian pattern to make, it has puff and bobble stitches…
As many Tunisian patterns, you make the piece and then it is sewn together.  I chose to join my rounds to save myself some time and here is how to do it…

As you insert your hook into the last stitch, insert your hook behind the first stitch, then yarn over and pull through both loops.  Then proceed with your return pass.  At first it may look really loose but you can tighten the first stitch and you can tighten the loop you pull through.  It creates a very seamless look…..

Enjoy!
