Using standing stitches can create a more polished look to your crochet.  Any stitch can be made with as a standing stitch even clusters and puffs.  It can eliminate the need to start your rounds and rows with chains.  The best resource for using standing stitches is Edie Eckman’s book, Beyond the Square.  Ready to finish Mandala #2…

Join Color E in any ch-3 sp with a standing dc, work 4 more dc more into same sp, 

make your pc (popcorn pc– leaving a loop on the last dc, insert your hook into the first dc, pick up your loop, yo and pull both loops through), ch 3, 5 dc pc into same sp, ch 3….

(5 dc pc, ch 3, 5 dc pc), ch 3 in each remaining ch-3 sp around, join with slst to first pc…

Fasten off Color E.  
Join Color F with standing dc in any ch-3 sp….work 2 more dc, picot (ch 3, slst in top of dc), 2dc in same sp….
 continue to work (3 dc, picot, 2 dc) in each ch-3 sp around, join with slst to first dc.   
Fasten off Color F.  
Join Color G with standing sc, in any ch-3 sp…
work 2 more sc in same sp, ch3…
continue with 3 sc, ch 3 in each ch-3 sp around, join with slst to first sc…
Fasten off Color G.
Now for the last Round, join Color H with standing dc in any ch-3 sp….
(dc, picot, dc)…
(slst, ch 3, slst) in center sc of 3-sc group…
continue working (2 dc, picot, dc) in each ch-3 sp, (slst, ch3, slst) in center sc of 3-sc group…
join with slst to first dc and fasten off… 
and voila! Weave in all ends!
