Happy Friday! -Tips and Tricks

Some essentials to a happy yarn life other than basic necessities include a yarn swift…

This is a Shaker Swift.   I love it so much! It is compact and fits in my dresser drawer waiting to make a cake (yarn cake that is).  The other is a ball winder or maybe better term is cake maker.  I first had a ball winder and then I bought my swift a couple of years ago.  It is so easy you setup your swift but before that….
This is what came in the mail for me this week, I am such a sucker for sales sometimes…
from Darn Good Yarn (SILK!!!) such wonderful packaging and inside…
Lace wt. Silk Cloud, 2 in Moment in Monetary and 1 Exotic Rainbow.  So luscious!
So you set up your swift with your hank of yarn…
and setup up your cake maker…
Trying something new I put the label on so it stays with my yarn, and it is time to make a cake…
wind and wind until…
you have a yarn cake.
Someone told me once that it is best to keep your yarn in hanks until you are ready to use it then wind it up or make a cake.
Enjoy!
