Some these the masters, I may have seen their work but not necessarily the artists themselves. This book gives you an insight to each of these master and how their crochet lives evolved. Of course I found myself most drawn to thread and color changing techniques this book shares like Overlay Crochet from Melody MacDuffee. She creates crochet with vivid texture and color changes, as it would look through the lens of a kaleidoscope. This is her work gracing the cover of the book….
Foray into Overlay
Over the weekend I picked up this book from the library, Master Class Crochet by Jean Leinhauser and Rita Weiss. It is filled with all the Masters of Crochet names we all know such as Margaret Hubert, Prudence Mapstone, Carol Ventura and so many more. We all know fashion crochet, free-form, hairpin lace, woven, clones lace and tapestry crochet. As I looked through this book of masters most I am familiar, I actually met Nancy Nehring (tassel crochet) years ago in Milwaukee.
This book is a definite must read for every Crochet lover.
Another opportunity to play with stitches using thread and color changes,
I made this foray into overlay….
Enjoy!
