This year I attended my first CGOA conference and I had a fantastic time. It was a great experience that I highly recommend to anyone thinking about doing it. You meet so many people, learn a variety of techniques and get inspired to create more. And the best place to show your crochet wear is a CGOA conference. It’s wonderful because you hear people saying is “That’s pretty”, “I like that”, or “Is that your design?” as you’re saying the same thing.
On my first day I wore:
The Wetherell Pullover by Robyn Chachula, Crochet! Autumn 2016. For this pattern, I used a Linen/Tencel yarn from Newton’s Yarn Country.
My second outfit was the Bruges Lace Tunic by Ellen Gormely,
which was made with Tahki Cotton Classic.
My next outfit, from Modern Freeform Irish Crochet with Myra Wood,
was made with Clea Cotton thread. This outfit received the most attention.
The best part was meeting Myra Wood and sharing it with her.
The last event of the conference was the banquet and
with a simple black dress I wore my Elvia Shawl.
it’s a design of mine and you can find the pattern in the August issue of Crochet World.
Enjoy!
