Frog & Toad

Frog & Toad

This story of Frog & Toad, the beloved book characters is a crochet story. It all started when a friend messaged me and asked if I could make a frog & toad. He shared a picture of the gorgeous knit pattern by Kristina McGowan. My friend bought the pattern for me and as I don’t knit I decided to create a crochet design. During a CGOA Chainlink class, Melissa Leapman once said, “If you can draw it, you can crochet it!” So I first drew out a sketch…

Frog Sketch

My first attempt was just okay…

1st Frog Attempt

but I knew I could do better, and tried again. I decided the color of yarn had to be just right, exploring options on WeCrochet, I decided on Wool of the Andes for the wool version…

Wool Yarn Frog & Toad

and Brava for the acrylic version…

Acrylic Yarn Frog & Toad

So the colors and size varies slightly from wool to acrylic. I thought is was important to offer both versions due to allergies and preference. This set is so much fun to create. So much love and time goes into each set. It takes me about 20-30 hours to complete a set. Click to see the listing in my shop. The pattern will be available soon. It has been tech edited by Emily at FiatFibers.com. The next step is to have it tested.

Enjoy!
